Alexandra Patrikiou

patrikiouDr Alexandra Patrikiou received her Bachelor’s degree from the Department of History and Archaeology, University of Crete and postgraduate degrees in European Studies from Panteion University (2003) and King’s College, London (2005).

In 2012 she completed her PhD thesis, «Representations of the Old Continent. The “dialogue” of Europe in Greece, 1941-46», at Panteion University. She has been awarded the State Scholarship for Modern Greek History (2006-2009), a scholarship from the Foundation for Education and European Culture, Nikos and Lidia Tricha (2010-11) and a library research grant for Princeton University, funded by S.J. Seeger Center for Hellenic Studies. Under the supervision of Alexis Dimaras she has prepared an exhibition for school books (2010) and the publication of the collected works of Alexandra Delmouzos (Language is only a means to an end, Athens 2014).

Her main academic interests focus on history of ideas, education and the language question, the 1940s and the history of European unification.
